Our Mission

To improve safety and heart education throughout Central Washington by teaching members of our community to be prepared to save a life and to take that knowledge with them to share with family and friends.

According to the American Heart Association (AHA) & the Washington State Department of Health:

  • There are more than 265,000 EMS-treated cardiac arrests annually in the United States.
  • As many as 138,000 coronary heart disease deaths occur within one hour of the onset of symptoms.
  • More than 80 percent of heart attacks occur in the home.
  • One in 14 Yakima county adults has had a heart attack, coronary heart disease, angina or stroke.
  • Yakima County has a 46 percent higher death rate from heart attack than the Washington state average.

Do you know what to do if someone near you has a heart attack?
